Today

Hey guys this is Matt, Shawna's main man. We just wanted to touch base with you guys and 1. Tell you we covet your prayers while we are here in China, and 2. tell you what is going on right now. Today was another adventure filled busy day, and we are so tired ( starting to sound like a reoccurring theme but it is soooooo true). Shawna will go into more detail but today we went to the The Forbidden City and Tienanmen Square. Right now Shawna is up in the room packing because tomorrow morning we are leaving for the airport at 5:30am to fly to Guangzhou, which is in the Guandong Province. Very shortly after landing we will travel to what I believe is called The Office Of Civil Affairs and will finally after six years will be face to face with our little girl. I mean what can I say to convey what we are feeling right now. There is such a wide spectrum of emotions that we are experience. All I can do right now is ask for your prayers today. When God brings us to mind, pray for not only us but the rest of our travel group. Pray for safe travel, no problems with paperwork, for us as new parents to not freak out, and most importantly pray for our daughters, our precious little daughters. Thanks so much for all your love and support over the years, you'll never know how much it has meant to me and Shawna. Oh, we know what everyone will be waiting for and as soon as we can we will put some pictures up for people to see. Love you guys and thanks so much to everyone.

Hope everything goes well on the trip to GZ-you're probably going to like it there. The pace is much slower. If you don't want to go out, don't. If you're on the island, you can safely walk around and explore by yourself (imagine that after Beijing!).

We too have been praying for you daily, and praying that the experience of receiving Emma will go smoothly and that she will bond to you all quickly. We will continue to pray for emotional strength as I can only imagine the depth and breadth of what you are all feeling and experiencing.

Chris and I went for a run this morning and prayed out loud for your family and others we know who are adopting right now. This is a beautiful thing. I did not realize you all have waited so long!!! We traveled in late 2005 to adopt our now 6 year old. I think we were one of the last groups to get through so fast, it took only 10 months start to finish back then. It's beautiful to see you wait it out and wait for God's perfect timing. We know several families in our community who dropped out because of the wait. Press On! Enjoy tomorrow!!!!

I am so excited for you guys! You are probably meeting Emma for the first time right about now. We met our daughter in the very same building you will be meeting Emma in! I am praying that her transition goes well and I hope you all are getting caught up on your sleep.
